"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

i've been into deviantART for the longest time-about 5 years now and i've finally decided to join. i must admit i'm intimidated by some of the amazing work i've seen here-i'm not going to let it stop me from showcasing mine though. n//n i want my stuff to be looked at and critiqued because i want to become a better artist. this is something i might seriously consider doing with my life. me and artistry have morphed from pasttime, to hobby, to passion.
